Nice Weekend!

September 15th, 2012

This past weekend we gathered cattle with Program Partner Mr. McKinley to prepare for shipping.  A lovely day it was.  Cowboy Up! participant and graduate, Chris Chaisson did a great job ~ everyday his knowledge keeps increasing, and from what we see, he's taken to it very well!

Sunday brought us to an early morning rise to gather once again, to sort and ship.  Below is a shot up the alleyway where cattle come in and are sorted from calf and cow into steer pens and heifer pens.  Everything went quite smoothly!

Critters are let in the alley...

Then sorted into steer and heifer pens.

After sorting, cattle are counted out...

...gathered up the alley and loaded.

View from middle of alley.  Working from horseback and...

...afoot.  Great job Chris!

Smooth as silk.

That morning while out gathering Rick received a phone call asking if we could use some horse equipment, so later that afternoon we headed out to meet some of the nicest folks!
Much needed panels will make a nice addition for our new addition...

Welcome to our newest four-legged instructor, Junior, aka Mr. Bill!!!
